Brazilian jiu jitsu contains 7 belts, and we are going to explain the Brazilian jiu jitsu belts
* white belt : it's the first belt in jiu jitsu , everyone who plays jiu jitsu starts with it , it usually takes about 1 year to get the next belt (the blue belt) , it doesn’t require any special moves to get the white belt
* Blue belt :it's the second belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu belts system , it's between the intermediate (purple belt ) and the beginner (whit belt) , people must be at least 16 years old in order to obtain this belt , and in this belt , alot of moves are taught .
* Purple belt : it's the intermediate belt in jiu jitsu , coming after the rank of blue belt and before brown belt , it's not easy to get , it must take more than 2 years , and you have to learn alot of moves to be able to get it
* Brow belt : it's the belt between the purple belt ( intermediate ) and the black belt ( elite ) , it usually takes more than 5 years to get it , and you have to know a big number of moves , you also have to be at least 18 years old .
* Black belt : it's the ( elite ) belt , it's really hard to get this belt , which take usually more than 10 years . You have to train seriously and spend alot of time training and doing the moves of this belt , you have to be more than 19 years old to take this belt .
* Black and red belt : it's the alternative belt of the black belt , when you have a 7th and 8th degree , you will have this belt ,which means that you are really professional in jiu jitsu and you spent allot of years of training .
* Red belt : it's for jiu jitsu black belt 9th and 10th degree , Few of people have this belt such as Hélio Gracie . it takes more than 40 years of training to get this belt .
