We all want to “break a leg” when attending an interview. We want to be lucky, inspired and prepared. In this article we will talk about some interview tips that will help you be prepared for an interview. We made a list of 10 R’s that stands for ten interview tips.
The ten R’s of an interview are: research, remember, rehearse, references, reconsider, realize, ready, react, rating and rejoice.
Interview tip #1: Research
You have to gather as much information as you can about the company you will be interviewing with. You need to know what they do, what their plans are and what they are looking for the vacant job.
Interview tip #2: Remember
You might be attending a behavioral interview so you need to be prepared for one. Try to remember any kind of situation you had in your past work experience and remember how you handled the situation.
Interview tip #3: Rehearse
You need to practice in front of a mirror, or you can ask a friend to help you. You can think of some questions the interviewer might ask you and you put your friend to as you those questions.
Interview tip #4: References
They might ask you for some references so you need to think about whom to name as a reference. It should be your old boss if that’s possible, maybe a colleague with whom you’ve worked and he owns a high level job.
Interview tip #5: Reconsider
There might be other better alternatives for you so you need to analyze well. Gather information and choose wisely.
Interview tip #6: Realize
Why do you want this job? Because of the salary? Money isn’t everything, so you need to get your priorities straight. There are many other things to consider like the location, the possibility of advancement, the insurances, the spare time, etc.
Interview tip #7: Ready
When facing an interview you have to be ready for it. You have to own it. You have to be above it, to control it.
Interview tip #8: React
As I said, you have to take control of the interview. Be very confident and act like you know what you want, even if you don’t. Do not hesitate, do not stumble, be fluid and clear.
Interview tip #9: Rating
They will rate you. You only have one chance to make a good first impression so do not blow it. Act like you already got the job and show some attitude but don’t be rude.
Interview tip #10: Rejoice
Whatever the result is, whatever you do, keep this in mind: enjoy every single moment of your life, because you won’t live that moment ever again.
