Step 1
Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 300×300 pixels canvas ( 72dpi), and I filled my background with white. Now make a new layer set and name it “Wooden Box”. In a new layer draw a light brown rectangle with #a99544 and a 56×52 pixel dimension.
Step 2
Under Layer Style (Layer > Layer Style), add the Drop Shadow, the Inner Glow, the Satin and the Gradient Overlay blending options to the light brown rectangle layer.

Step 3
In a new layer, draw a smaller rectangle with #ede4a3 and a 42×41 pixel dimension.
Step 4
Under Layer Style (Layer > Layer Style), add the Inner Glow and the Gradient Overlay blending options to the cut out black circle layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to Lighten.

Step 5
In a new layer, draw a 1 pixel black line inside the smaller rectangle design, and draw a 1 pixel white line next to it. Now set the layer’s blending mode to Soft Light. Then duplicate the line layer twice, and position them next to each as shown below.
Step 6
Using your Polygonal Lasso Tool, create a small trapezoid shape on top of the rectangle design. Fill the selection with #98801f.
Step 7
Under Layer Style (Layer > Layer Style), add the Inner Glow and the Gradient Overlay blending options to the trapezoid shape layer.

Step 8
Create a new layer, and draw a small gray circle with #3b3b3b and a 3×3 pixel dimension between the line designs.
Step 9
Under Layer Style (Layer > Layer Style,) add the Gradient Overlay blending option to the small gray circle layer. Then set the layer’s opacity level to 70%.

Step 10
Add more small circles between all the line designs, top and bottom. Finally, in a new layer, you can also add black vertical rectangles with a 3×27 pixel dimension between each line design, setting their opacity level to 15%.
